SUMMARY: Repair, build, troubleshoot and participate in continuous improvement processes throughout the shop alongside some of the most skilled and talented people in the industry today.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Be capable of working with all aspects of manufacturing processes including saws, hand tools, drilling, lathes, milling, surface grinders, heat treating processes, and EDM machines.
· Use of applied technical math skills needed to solve shop related problems in both English and Metric system.
· Be able to use simple and complex measuring equipment to inspect, check, and manufacture components in terms of size, surface, and quality.
· Learn the basic principles of how progressive tools, dies, jigs and fixtures being manufactured function, the operating sequences, the purpose of the individual components and how they interact.
· Participate in department continuous improvement efforts
· Be able to apply and understand the methods and techniques used to assemble and disassemble tools, dies, jigs and fixtures.
· Be able to carry out testing to confirm correct operation, and the effectiveness of repairs and maintenance activities carried out.
· Operate press to evaluate tooling/press issues
· Be familiar with all appropriate safety and environmental hazards, and fire emergency procedures including wearing and maintaining personal protective equipment as well as maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
· Attends required training programs.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and write in English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to work with certain technical mathematical concepts and perform calculations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply basic reasoning skills.

Must be able to work school required shifts. Must be able to stand and move about the facility. Required to read documents and computer screens. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to mechanical parts, noise, dust and odors. Occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. Temperatures may exceed 100 degrees during summer months in the production area.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program for tool and die or an equivalent number of years of education and production tooling experience. At least 3 years experience as a tool and die maker in a manufacturing environment. CNC experience desired. Must participate in company sponsored training to maintain skill level required.
SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
· Must be currently enrolled in a technical high school, College, or have some machining experience.
· Strong work ethic: Positive attitude, motivated, dependable, ethical, responsible and reliable.
· Safety mindset; There must be a strict and disciplined approach to manage, mitigate and avoid risk.
· Willingness to learn: wants to drive their own continuous professional development.
