MedTrans (Medline Industries) is the leading nationwide supplier of medical, surgical and pharmaceutical products to hospitals, nursing homes, HME providers, surgery centers, physician offices, home care/hospice. Due to continued growth we are in need of a Transportation Manager in Rialto, CA. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Transportation Management including route driver supervision, operations management, and process control and improvement.

The Transportation Manager Oversees and manage local drivers ensuring proper communication between drivers, Branch and Corporate Management. Implement new routes. Ensure compliance with all state Department of Transportation (DOT) and Company regulations and adapt MedTrans capabilities to provide efficient high quality Transportation Service.

Compensation

  • Average annual salary $123,000 - $133,000 per year which includes:
  • Base rate salary $95,000-$105,000 per year
  • Bonus that can equate to approximately an additional $28,000 per year. Incentives are attainable but not guaranteed.
  • Bi-weekly paychecks

Work Schedule

  • Monday-Friday with occasional weekend and/or night work, as needed
  • Work schedule varies, typically 7am-5pm
  • Typically work 8-12 hours per day, or until work is completed
  • Travel requirement: 10-15%
  • Work schedule may change; must be flexible with work schedule

Responsibilities

  • Optimize daily routes and activities based on Branch and Fleet workloads and available Customer order information to maximize the utility of all Fleet assets.
  • Ensure compliance with all DOT and Company regulations
  • Ensure drivers are properly trained according to MedTrans requirements. Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the assigned Medtrans fleet.
  • Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained in accordance with the MedTrans vehicle maintenance policy.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled meetings with drivers as required by DOT or company policy.
  • Develop and mentor staff through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; build and maintain employee morale and motivation; ensure the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies.
  • Visit Medline customers (with or without Sales) to discuss operational issues and improve delivery service.

Qualifications

  • CDL A preferred or willing to obtain upon hire
  • Intermediate knowledge of Transportation Costing and Motor Carrier Operations.
  • Experience managing and dispatching drivers and use of routing software.
  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: opening a workbook, inserting a row, selecting font style and size, formatting cells as currency, using copy, paste and save functions, aligning text, selecting cells, renaming a worksheet, inserting a column, selecting a chart style, inserting a worksheet, setting margins, selecting page orientation, using spell check and/or printing worksheets).
  • Basic skill level in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: inserting, rearranging, hiding and deleting slides, navigating between slides, increasing list level, adding, centering and editing text, changing views, inserting a table or a note, moving objects, printing outline view and/or running a slide show).
  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: opening a document, cutting, pasting and aligning text, selecting font type and size, changing margins and column width, sorting, inserting bullets, pictures and dates, using find and replace, undo, spell check, track changes, review pane and/or print functions).
  • Knowledge of Transportation Costing and Motor Carrier Operations.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Transportation Management experience coaching, mentoring and training staff.

Pay: $123,000.00 - $133,000.00 per year
