OVERVIEW

Our Truck Detailer & Lot Attendant will provide support and assistance to the Lead Fleet Technician and Service Manager as a key contributor to the quality of work provided by the Idealease Truck Reconditioning shop. This is an entry-level position with full benefits and year-round work, in a very tight-knit and cohesive service team. This position would track into potential future opportunities as a Shop Helper or Fleet Technician, a stable and rewarding path with room to grow and advance your career.

Accountabilities:

Clean and detail trucks of all types and sizes including exterior and interior cleaning, washing, steaming, polishing, tire dressing, window washing, removing decals and adhesives, etc. ensuring a great first impression for our internal and external customers with strong attention to detail and pride.
Take photographs of trucks to be sold and upload to various websites or file systems.
Perform truck check-in or check-out procedures such as light cleanup, washing, refueling, removing decals or license plates, and basic inspections of components under the supervision of technicians.
Run errands (i.e., parts pickup) or run chase car with another employee using a company vehicle.
Assist with shop upkeep activities including yard checks, removing trash, stocking supplies, general shop cleanup, retrieving parts or shop supplies, maintaining parts inventory, snow/ice removal, etc.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Strong work ethic, attention to detail, reliability, pride in your work, and willingness to help.
Ability to change tasks from one minute to the next and prioritize as needed.
Must have at least minimum computer skills to navigate our business system.
Desire to learn and advance through hands-on training.
Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbally.
Desire to learn to drive commercial trucks in yard and on road with training and experience.
Must be able to lift 75lbs and carry 5 feet.
Must be able to climb a ladder or in a truck (5-8 feet) and work on a platform on occasion.
Periodic bending, reaching, kneeling, or working on a creeper.

Educational Requirements:

Valid driver license with acceptable driving record required.
Completed High School diploma or equivalent educational experience.
A mechanical aptitude, any relevant experience considered, age 17+ with no work restrictions.
