We are seeking a Second shift Underground Production Foreman for one of our underground limestone operations located in the Nashville, TN. area. The position reports directly to the Plant Manager. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence, be a self-starter and will have responsibilities that include but are not limited to:
***Starting from $85,000/year plus Management Incentive based on experience
Responsibilities:
Supervising up to 12 quarry/mine employees and plant maintenance operations in a limestone surface and underground mine
Efficiently supervise production and sales of a 1M TPY operation
Overseeing proper implementation of safety procedures
Assist and organize the work of employees in the daily inspection and maintenance of the underground mine to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations to maximize production and minimize interruptions.
Assist in the daily operation scheduling of plant maintenance to ensure optimal utilization of plant and equipment, personnel and inventory requirements, and work procedures .
Assist plant manager to control costs to meet budgets and reduce costs to achieve savings
Identify deficiencies and implement a plan for continuous improvement
Effectively manage direct reports by setting clear performance objectives, providing regular feedback and providing development through training
Ensure compliance with all Company and Government policies and regulations
Assist in budgeting and forecasting
Ensure processes for quality product production and collaborate with QC department
Actively reaching out and being involved in the local community
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or equivalent time spent in related field is strongly preferred with emphasis on underground mining processes along with fixed plant repair procedures.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in quarry mining or related field.
Working knowledge of profit and loss statements and basic accounting principles is a plus.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Ability to develop leadership at the hourly and lead person levels.
Demonstrated ability in identifying, communicating and implementing best operating practices, including quality, maintenance & repair activities, underground production and safety excellence.
Proven safety record and excellent compliance in MSHA Part 46 & 48 safety standards.
Possess strong basic math knowledge
Working knowledge of environmental policies, standards, and best practices.
Underground experience is a plus.
Working knowledge of AggQC and AggFlow is a plus.
Proficient in the Microsoft Windows suit is a plus.
