Job Summary:
The Vaccine Coordinator provides primary coordination and support of the vaccine program (including VFC) specific to monthly vaccine reports, inventory, reconciling and ordering of all vaccines including COVID, influenza, State supplied and privately purchased vaccines for all PCP Divisions.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Assist with the planning, developing and providing program specific education opportunities for staff, co-workers, and community members.
- Uses available resources to retrieve and data enter historical immunization information.
- Monitors and gives feedback to clinical staff to ensure that vaccines are charted in the EHR in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Manages inventory, ordering, receiving, shipping, stocking, labeling, and storage of clinic vaccines in strict accordance with Private and the Vaccines for Children Program requirements (VFC); including making reports and resolving reporting discrepancies.
- Manages daily refrigerator temperature logs and addresses alarms.
- Working knowledge of the Colorado Immunization Information System (CIIS) and understanding of client record search and input.
- Consistently follows through to accomplish job functions and/or meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing work conditions and/or project requirements.
- Exhibits a positive attitude and good work ethic; works well with others.
- Provides excellent customer service, both internally and externally.
- Punctual and reliable attendance at the assigned work location.

Education Requirements:
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Associate’s degree in nursing (ADN), Pharm Tech or Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN).
OR
Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.
General Requirements:
A qualified candidate should have a working knowledge of at least one-word processing software package (preferably Microsoft Word). A working knowledge of at least one electronic medical record (EHR) is preferred.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position at 40 hours a week. Works primarily Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Expected hours of work may change at any time with or without notice.

Working Environment:
Fast paced office environment with numerous interruptions and a very wide variety of tasks. Works in a well-lighted and ventilated office. Reliably commute (Required) between Grand Junction and Fruita as needed.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands descripted here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Reach forward, up, down, and to the side. Able to sit or stand for minimum periods of one hour at a time. Able to come and go from the work area repeatedly throughout the day. Able to lift up to fifteen (15) pounds.
