VAN DRIVER
PART TIME - VARIED SCHEDULE – DAYS – 12 passenger van
The Chelsea at Montville is an assisted living/memory care facility located in a quiet suburban setting, where we provide a comfortable, safe and secure home for those who need help with the activities of daily living, in a caring atmosphere of respect and dignity.
SUMMARY:
Provides safe and courteous transportation for our residents to desired locations as directed.
Experience driving a 12 passenger van preferred, but willing to train the right person.
On days without trips, may assist the Lifestyles Director with resident’s activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(Including the following. Other duties may be assigned.)
Communicates with the Lifestyle Director at the beginning of each workday on tasks that need to be attended to before the workday begins and throughout the day.
Pre-heats or pre-cools Van/Bus to insure our residents’ comfort.
Assists every resident to enter and exit the Van/Bus safely.
Follows all the rules and regulation of the road.
Maintains and protects the confidentiality of resident information at all times.
Responsible for Van/Bus maintenance:
Keeps Van/Bus tank full of gasoline.
Responsible for monitoring oil changes and fluid checks on a regular basis.
Maintains a clean interior and exterior of the Van/Bus.
Reports any mechanical problems immediately to the Lifestyle Director.
Required to step-in and participate in activity programming when the Van/Bus in not being used on scheduled working days.
Reports any accidents or incidents, which may occur regarding the Van/Bus and the transportation of the residents.
Maintains and holds an updated auto license for our transportation Van/Bus.
Sees that all sign-up sheets for Van/Bus transportation are fully documented with names of all residents on board and are kept and turned in by the end of the day to the transportation log.
Must interact tactfully with ill and disabled residents and those affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other memory impairments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience: Minimum of five (5) years driving experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current Driver’s License. Company will obtain a Driver’s abstract.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to read and follow road signs. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from residents, residents’ families, regulatory agencies or members of the community.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusion. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form.Housekeeper – Laundry service – FULL TIME

We have currently have several full time opportunities for housekeepers and laundry aides. Some of the responsibilities of our Laundry/Housekeeper employees are to clean resident rooms and various common areas in order to maintain a high quality, safe and clean residence. Operates laundry machines to clean resident laundry and to assure that linen and personal laundry is hygienically clean. Distributes clean linen to linen closets and maintains established linen levels for the residence at all times.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cleans common areas of residence, according to established schedule and procedure.
Cleans rest rooms and replenishes supplies according to established schedule and on an as-needed basis.
Performs floor care functions including sweeping, vacuuming, washing and waxing.
Cleans resident’s apartments according to work schedule or as needed; dusts, cleans surfaces, vacuums rugs, scours kitchenettes and bathrooms and empties trash.
Cleans housekeeping carts and equipment and empties trash according to established procedure and transports to disposal area.
Transports soiled linen and laundry in “SOILED” cart to “soiled area” of the laundry room. Operates laundry room according to established procedure. Places completed laundry in “CLEAN” cart and transports to appropriate floors and residents’ apartments.
Folds and stacks clean linen according to floor specifications; stock linen shelves in clean laundry room; records linen usage and condition.
Supplies floor with linen carts and supplies as scheduled; fills emergency requisitions for linen as needed; irons tablecloths as needed.
Collects and delivers residents’ personal clothing as scheduled.
Maintains confidentiality of all residents at all times
