The Vehicle Fleet Specialist position is responsible the general upkeep of the Mary Lee Foundation vehicle fleet, including vehicle inspections and registrations, initiating vehicle repairs, tracking of scheduled maintenance, and filing of records pertaining to all Mary Lee fleet vehicles.
Responsibilities/Competencies
- Maintenance and general upkeep of the Mary Lee Foundation Vehicle Fleet
- Identify and document any vehicle damages and communicate to HR Director
- Work closely with the Scheduler, Human Resources, and Controller, on necessary tasks
- Manage Check In/Out of Vehicles
- Perform Vehicle swaps in the field as needed
- Perform minor repairs as needed and coordinate with approved vendors for larger repairs
- Ensure all fleet has current registrations
- Install and maintain Geo-location tracking devices
- Assist with Vehicle Fleet Recalls
- Provide transportation for clients to appointments, work, or other approved trips
- Train new drivers in safe operation of vehicles, and use of wheelchair lifts
- Assist in preparation for the Sale/Disposing of Fleet assets
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Requirements
- One to two (1-2) year(s) of experience in vehicle maintenance
- Intermediate knowledge and skills in Office programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook
- Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Current TX Driver License, or the ability to acquire one within 30 days of employment and acceptable driving record
- Must be able to pass a Criminal History Background Check
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Must have good organizational skills and analytical ability in order to interpret information, and carry out duties independently
- Must be cooperative and have the desire to be a team player, helping out with various tasks as required
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively in person, over the phone, or in writing with a proactive customer service attitude
- Competency in general computer use, and specific knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Knowledge of the operation of a telephone switchboard or multi-line telephones.
- Consistent, professional dress, and manner
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to stand and reach above shoulder level, walk up and down stairs, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
