Vice President (VP) of Finance

The Vice President (VP) of Finance is a key member of the executive team responsible for leading the financial strategy and operations of an organization. Their primary role is to ensure the financial health of the company by overseeing all financial functions, including accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury management, tax, and risk management.

The specific duties and responsibilities of a VP of Finance include:

• Financial Planning and Analysis: Developing and overseeing the financial planning and analysis process, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling. This includes identifying and analyzing trends, opportunities, and risks to inform strategic decision-making.
• Accounting: Overseeing the accounting function, including the accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions, managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
• Treasury Management: Managing the organization's cash flow, including cash management, debt management, and investment management.
• Risk Management: Identifying, evaluating, and managing financial risks, including market risk, credit risk, and operational risk.
• Tax: Ensuring compliance with all tax laws and regulations and managing the organization's tax strategy to minimize tax liabilities.
• Financial Reporting: Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, including the preparation of financial statements, regulatory filings, and other financial reports.
• Stakeholder Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, lenders, and regulators.

To be successful in this role, a VP of Finance should possess the following:

• Strong analytical, strategic, and leadership skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A deep understanding of financial principles, regulations, and accounting practices, and be able to stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices
• Experience in implementing software solutions
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Master's degree and/or professional certification such as CPA or CFA is highly preferred
• 7-10 years of relevant experience
