Welcome to 1979 is currently hiring a full-time Production Tech. We make metal moulds (called stampers) used for vinyl record pressing. This is a great opportunity to be a part of the vinyl record industry and learn the ins and outs of the fascinating electroplating process.

Summary:

The Production Tech is responsible for any step along the production process of vinyl record stampers. They will adhere to safety and quality standards to provide a first class product for our customers. The production tech reports to the Shift Lead and Scheduling Manager.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Proper intake and processing of lacquers: correct handling, documentation, prepping, and silvering
• Stamper processing: proper handling, prepping, separation of parts
• Stamper forming: backsanding, trimming, center verification and hole punching, edge profile forming
• Delivery of finished product to customers: final quality verification of parts, proper packaging of parts in sleeves, packing boxes for shipments, creating packing slips and shipping labels, initiating shipping service pick-ups or drop-offs at local hubs
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
• Correct storage and care of mothers and fathers utilizing the 1979 cataloging system
• Ensuring proper inventory levels of materials and chemicals and alerting lead and/or scheduling manager of any ordering needs
• Maintaining high standards through audible and visual quality control of parts using in house equipment
• Entering information into order database
• Troubleshooting and technical support of customers
• Ensuring daily and weekly goals and tasks are met and completed
• Attending production team meetings
• Running errands for the production area as needed

Qualifications:

• Love of music and vinyl is greatly appreciated
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to lift 50 lbs or more
• Detail-oriented
• Mechanically inclined
• Experience using Google Sheets
• Familiarity with the vinyl production process is preferred
• Audio background is appreciated but not required
• Preference given to those with electroplating experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
