About the Position:

The position of the Warehouse Lead involves coordinating inventory placement in the warehouse, monitoring inventory levels, shipping and receiving, assurance of safety compliance and assisting with general housekeeping needs.

The Warehouse Lead must be trained, willing, and able to perform the duties of a Warehouse Associate I and Warehouse Associate II, including: Picker, packer, box maker, palletizer, material handler, cross dock, and quality assurance.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Planning, organizing, and directing the daily activities within their designated area
• Communicating with employees, supervisors, and managers to ensure that orders are fulfilled according to schedule
• Perform quality inspections on incoming and outgoing shipments
• Pick, pack, and handle materials for orders
• Process packages for shipments to include: packaging, labeling, stacking, and palletizing
• Complete tasks such as receiving, loading, unloading, stacking, and staging of shipments
• Load and unload products and materials to and from designated storage area, such as racks, shelves, or vehicles using a forklift and/or pallet jack.
• Pack product on pallets and secures with protective materials such as strapping and stretch wrap to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported
• Maintain accurate inventory against physical count of stock
• Ensure accuracy of paperwork and that all required information is stored according to company procedure
• Ensure proper housekeeping (i.e., free of trash, product in correct location, etc.)
• Participate in quality improvement processes
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

• Three or more years related warehouse experience required
• Experience in a lead position preferred
• Forklift certification required, or ability to be trained and certified internally
• Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods required
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and a willingness to learn
• Commitment to excellence and high standards
• Flexible, and able to move within entry level warehouse positions noted above
• Acute attention to detail
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
• Demonstrated reliability and consistency in attendance to scheduled work hours

Physical demands and work environment:

• Continually required to stand and / or walk
• Continually required to talk, hear and understand basic directions
• Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity to grasp, handle or feel
• Continually required to push, pull and reach
• Continually required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
• Continually required to lift/push/carry items less than 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
