Stock Crew

Purpose:

Stock Associates are responsible for taking goods that have been received into inventory and moving them to the location where they will be stored. Store shelves, warehouse bins, pallet racks and outdoors storage areas are common places where the products are located. The goal of this team is to get products put away both quickly and accurately. Product should be located and stored in a way for other coworkers to easily find when shipping customer orders or resupplying another store. Stock Associates are also responsible for checking goods for damage and creating labels to identify those items not already tagged.

The ability and willingness to drive a forklift is preferred. Loading and unloading trucks, and direct customer interactions are common occurrences in this position, as well as other general warehouse duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Taking goods that have been received into inventory and moving them to the location where they will be stored quickly and accurately.
• Checking goods for damage.
• Creating labels to identify items not already tagged.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong desire to provide the best customer service.
• Age 16 and older (Need to use a knife)
• Ability to maintain a friendly, positive attitude.
• Professionalism and Teamwork.
• Basic computer skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• The willingness to learn new things.
• Ability to work with their hands which include repetitive motions and heavy lifting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Some high school

Working Conditions:

• Work is physically strenuous. Workers are typically required to lift heavy packages, bend, stoop, utilize ladders and/or operate heavy equipment.
• Warehouses are often blocked buildings, and some workers must walk long distances repeatedly throughout the day.
• Depending on the type of merchandise stored, warehouses are clean, well ventilated, and well lighted.
• Warehouse workers who work on loading platforms may be exposed to all kinds of weather, and those who work outdoors should wear protective clothing.
• To reduce the risk of accidents, workers are required to follow strict safety regulations.
• Warehouse workers generally work about forty hours a week. Overtime is often available at premium rates, and the work is usually steady all year.
