SUMMARY: This position receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Shipping and receiving unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, and matching packing slips to incoming shipments.
• Reading customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
• Moving materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
• Sorting and locating materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code. Establishing bin locations as needed.
• Ensuring warehouse is accessible and safe for employee and customer traffic.
• Assembling customer orders from stock and placing orders on pallets or shelves or relocating orders to a holding area or shipping department. Completing and submitting paperwork to the appropriate recipient.
• Marking materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
• Recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.
• Counting of physical inventory.
• Weighing and counting items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
• Maintaining 5S standards: Sweeping, dusting, mopping; Organizing warehouse and work area for orderliness always.
• Wearing the proper safety equipment
• Completing cycle counts
• Performing daily equipment checks
• Recycling cardboard; pulling and palletizing scrap barrels for collection

BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:
Required Education, Experience, and Knowledge
High School Diploma/GED
Preferred Education, Experience, and Knowledge
Forklift operator/trainer

One year of prior warehouse experience

General Warehouse knowledge

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Able to work in a manufacturing plant atmosphere.

Bending and standing for long periods of time

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
