JOB SUMMARY

Polar is looking to hire a Wire Harness Assembler to work at our manufacturing facility in Gardena, CA. Responsibilities include the assembly of products that contain mechanical components, motor systems, electrical wiring, and multiple part numbers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Cable and harness assembly to create neat and efficient cable routing for various products

· Configure “pegboards” for production of rapid wire harness assembly

· Calibration and operation of automatic wire stripping, wire cutting, lug and connector punch presses (training available)

· Interprets mechanical and electrical drawings & schematics, engineering orders, assembly routes, customer requirements, and quality directives

· Produces and inspects assemblies that conform to product specifications

· Observes all safety rules and maintains a clean, organized work area

· Proficient in reading and understanding mechanical / electrical drawings, and route sheets

· Electronic unit & panel assembly/build

· Crimping inspection proficiency

· Soldering inspection proficiency

· Operate and calibrate crimping machines, wire cutting and stripping machines;

· System ring-out

· Build cable harnesses from electrical schematics and engineering drawings; and

REQUIREMENTS

· Minimum of 2 years’ electronics assembly experience required

· Ability to perform simple harness and circuit tests

· Ability to wind transformers / motors a plus

· Effective interpersonal communication skills, and ability to work in a team environment

· Ability to organize your workday for efficiency - be a "self-starter"

· Ability to work overtime and on weekends if needed

· Ability to lift 50 lbs., and be physically fit to perform work duties
