We are seeking a Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Leader to join our West Geography. Someone who will be keenly aware of the changing transportation system and the emergence of new ZEV mobility technologies and regulations, with a focus on fleet transitions, urban charging infrastructure, hydrogen and battery electric vehicles.

The successful individual will join an integrated service team of ZEV focused practitioners that cross disciplines in a holistic service offering inclusive of transportation planners, energy consultants, and electrical engineers. The team specialises in electrification of mobility in two overlapping market segments: Fleet Transition (transit and non-transit) and Urban Equitable Charging – a team constituted from a electrical, transportation planning, and energy disciplines.

It is expected that this role would be focused on developing business in California and the Western US with needs and opportunities for growth where knowledge of fleet electrification of transportation networks is needed. Additional national business needs would also be supported when they arise but early focused efforts would be concentrated in order to accelerate client relationships, project wins, and build momentum.

The West Coast currently has over $5m of ZEV work – primarily planning and advisory related commissions. The candidate would be expected to contribute to this work and expand it into larger and more complex commissions over time. We would expect the successful candidate to bring new relationships as well, resulting in novel opportunities.


Responsibilities:

Work in an integrated team environment to

  • Win projects that include ZEV technology integration, charging (electric and hydrogen) infrastructure planning and implementation, and strategic policy and programmatic engagement
  • Build client and partner relationships that advance Arup’s position at the forefront of the ZEV transition and decarbonization of mobility more broadly.
  • Deliver quality project outcomes as either a lead or supportive member of the team by contributing technical rigor to best practice systems thinking on a breadth of projects, from large to small, in support of the Arup Strategy and Global Step Change.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Planning, Business Organization, or the Sciences
  • Professional certifications relevant to the role, such as professional engineering or planning licensure.
  • 10 years working knowledge of the transportation system and 5 years working knowledge of ZEV transitions.
  • Experience with the ZEV transitione.g. operating service transitions, fleet decarbonization, new energy infrastructure.
  • Experience with business development activities and relationship management.

Hiring Range: The good faith base salary hiring range for this job performed in California is $165,000 and $237,000. Benefits are not included in the base salary range. Summary of benefits are included in this posting with details provided to applicants at the time of interview. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of California will differ.
