Tankstar USA, Inc, a leader in the bulk trucking industry, is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist for its corporate office in Milwaukee, WI.

POSITION PURPOSE: This individual will be responsible for maintaining the accounting department records by processing all invoices and maintaining the ledger.

JOB DUTIES:

1. Sort and compile invoices and checks by companies and by due date.

2. Compute and record charges, refunds, cost of lost goods, freight charges and other similar charges.

3. Prepare vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements and other reports.

4. Thoroughly check all invoices against orders to verify accuracy.

5. Investigate problems that vendors may have with obtaining payment for bills.

6. Input data into financial data processing system for the proper processing.

7. Review, balance, and interpret computer reports and makes any corrections if needed.

8. Compute cost analysis reports and balance sheets.

9. Accurately and thoroughly complete a general ledger.

10. Process all companies’ utilities bills on a monthly basis.

11. Prepare reports and documents as requested.

12. Other duties as determined by Controller.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to sit at a desk for extended periods of time.

QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of six months experience and has worked with a financial data processing system previously. Associates degree in Accounting or working toward an Associate’s degree. MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and basic knowledge of accounting software as well as knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures.
