Comprised of the Company’s international business units and various direct-to-consumer streaming services, Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED) aligns technology, media distribution and advertising sales into a single business segment to create and deliver personalized entertainment experiences to consumers around the world.

Within DMED, and as part of the Platform Distribution group, the Content Management team leverages our content portfolio expertise, rights management systems, and relationships with producer groups, sales teams, and other stakeholders to strategically address challenges and identify opportunities for the purpose of building and maximizing the value of our current and library content portfolio and reaching culturally distinct audiences around the world.

Job Summary:

This person will support Content Management for Content Sales and Direct to Consumer services globally and enterprise wide.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

Content management and communications:

  • Assist with planning and execution of regional presentations. Become the expert in the content to bring awareness to content to local teams.

  • Update scorecards by obtaining info from producer groups; ensure that content is reflected consistently across systems (Rightsline, DMDCentral, CPM).

  • Contribute to monthly newsletters to highlight content across the company

  • Manage TV Movies and feature acquisition licensing; liaise with international teams to analyze slots in existing deals or opportunities to license in new deals (or to our own platforms). Consistently push awareness of new product and existing library catalog.

  • Collaborate with internal teams as needed (Disney+/STAR teams, Content Sales, Technical Servicing, Finance/Accounting, Production, Business Affairs, Legal, Sales, Deal Management, IC&O, etc.)

  • Help track, update, and maintain Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) content list for the content sales teams, identifying new and existing content that highlights underrepresented groups or features underrepresented talent in front of and/or behind the camera

  • Work in tandem with other teams (Enterprise Metadata Services, Product Management, etc.) who are coordinating similar efforts across the company

  • Identify and help curate content sales lists using other metadata tagging (genre/theme, etc.) and similarly work with the other teams across the company in an effort to unify and systematize metadata information

  • Identify gaps in system reporting of metadata and assist with formulating proposals on how to resolve

  • Run licensing reports as requested by other teams (BA, Marketing, Finance, etc.) and clarify licensing terms/fees as needed with local teams

  • Provide guidance to local teams as needed (clarify licensing guidelines, legal restrictions, moratoriums, etc.)

Formats – Local content and rights tracking

  • Track the rights, including any consultations or additional clearances, for the local productions from the international DTC teams

  • Ensure that the rights tracker is updated, as well as the rights-in for Rightsline (note that the rights-in team will enter the rights into RL)

  • Partner with International Content & Operations team to ensure timely communication (provide and receive updates on local content)

  • Collaborate with rights-in team members to follow up on rights info as needed

  • Assist with executing the formats cleanup project by hitting completion deadlines (renaming of titles, correction of deals in Rightsline/Apollo,

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

  • Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience

  • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and SharePoint in Windows PC

  • Extensive knowledge of, and deep interest in, films and series across all genres, new and old, including classics

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, tasks and queries at any given time across multiple functional disciplines

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment

  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new skills and techniques

  • Strong problem solving, decision making and analytical skills

  • Well versed in the current media landscape, understands industry trends and lingo
