What We Are Looking For
AT WILL MEDIA is currently seeking an Associate Development Producer to support the development team in all aspects of originals such as research, ideating and reviewing creative, generating pitch materials, and tracking projects. This Associated Development Producer is also responsible for identifying intellectual property across mediums (print and web publishing) that could work for podcast adaptation. This position involves collaborating with the Production Team.
The Associate Development Producer reports to the Senior Manager of Development and will work closely with the Development Producers and Story Editor.
The successful candidate has a passion for the media, entertainment, and development industry, knowledge of content success and is in tune to emerging trends in relevant markets. The ideal candidate is relationship-focused and results-oriented, has a positive, can-do, and collaborative attitude and is proactive, creative and flexible with the ability to manage ambiguity.
Candidates based in NYC or LA preferred, but we are open to a remote situation for the right candidate.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Mine existing IP (articles, books, essays, etc.) for viable podcast ideas and distill into clear and concise summaries while giving creative input
- Ideate original IP and formats around company and distributor mandates
- Create pitch materials alongside the Development team, including loglines, one-sheets, series treatments, episode breakdowns and pitch decks
- Write sizzle reel scripts and work with edit team on producing sizzle reels for external partners
- Utilize design software to create compelling show decks for original productions
- Conduct research and investigative deep-dives into possible stories and sources
- Provide consistent research and analysis upon request on entertainment and podcast industry, marketing, development trends, IP history, etc.
- Track incoming pitches and projects to evaluate
- Provide feedback on creative (outlines, treatments, scripts, pitches, etc.) submitted by writers, producers, talent and other partners
- Ensure timely and accurate concept and asset deliveries to team
- Assist in organizing and maintaining spreadsheets and tracking of materials
Qualifications & Skills
- B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited university, preferably in Film Production, Screenwriting, Journalism, Business, or Marketing, or equivalent industry experience
- 3 years minimum industry experience
- Strong grasp of story and excellent writing and research skills
- Working knowledge of Keynote, Photoshop and/or Canva
- Comprehensive understanding of entertainment programming
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Skilled in finding new talent and trends
- Takes initiative and anticipates needs
- Working knowledge of G-Suite, Slack, and Airtable
- Excellent and strategic written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills
Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000 per year
