The Behavioral Health Receptionist has primary responsibility for clerical duties involved with coordinating client care at the site. These duties include but are not limited to greeting clients/visitors, answering phones, directing visitors/clients to the appropriate areas and performing routine clerical duties. It is also the responsibility of this position to model and maintain high professional conduct and standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assures telephone is answered in a timely manner and all messages are relied to the apocopate department or person.
  • Check and prepare reminder calls or correspondences for clients.
  • Files all and retrieves all documentation needed to stay in compliance with DE state and federal regulations
  • Obtaining client demographic and verifying insurance information at each visit
  • Obtaining necessary client information to meet current Federal guidelines and insurance use guidelines for electronic medical records.
  • Scan pertinent client information into EMR including client authorizations, recent labs delivered etc.
  • Collecting co-payments, including cash, checks, and credit cards.
  • Entering visit charges into EMR per doctor’s coding on scheduler
  • Scheduling follow-up appointments and inputting recall notices into EMR as needed
  • Insuring patient has necessary paperwork and insurance documentation for intake
  • Obtaining client authorization for medical records release, HIPAA, Reminder calls, etc
  • Identifying and resolving minor client billing complaints
  • Maintaining cleanliness of waiting area and assure site brochures and other marketing material is visible to clients
  • Assure counselors are alerted when client arrives for appointment
  • Enter client information into EMR
  • Types correspondence and reports for staff.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by Behavioral Health Office Manager

Qualifications

REQUIRED: High School Graduate or Equivalent

PREFERRED: Associates Degree

REQUIRED: 1 year in office environment, 3 years related experience, some knowledge of Alcohol/Drug abuse.

Schedule:

PART TIME Monday-Thursday 3pm-8pm
