POSITION SUMMARY

The Camp Program Supervisor is responsible for supporting camp operations and overseeing camp counselors and additional staff. They are also responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of camp attendees, and camp equipment. This role will also take on administrative tasks as needed, including managing the monthly camp newsletter. This is a full-time, temporary role that supports Logan Heights
CDC during the camp season from May through August.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Camp Program Operations (70%)

  • Oversees all day-to-day camp activities;
  • Monitors daily camper pick up and drop off;
  • Supervises and supports camp counselors and staff;
  • Enforce program safety regulations;
  • Communicates daily with parents using the Organization’s communication system;
  • Assists in coordinating camp events as needed; and
  • Assists in training and supporting volunteers.

Administrative Duties (30%)

  • Manages camp attendee and camp staff related paperwork;
  • Maintains current and accurate information in the camp database;
  • Prepares and publishes monthly camp newsletters;
  • Manages and updates the camp website;
  • Drafts and submits monthly reporting to the funder, while working closely with Logan Heights

CDC partners;

  • Prepares forms as needed such as applications, medical forms, etc.; and
  • Assists in coordinating daily transportation for camp attendees.

  • Frequently working outdoors in various types of weather;
  • Answering or making calls on the telephone for sometimes long and continuous periods of time;
  • Using a keyboard to perform research, and to communicate through written means for sometimes long and continuous periods of time;
  • Looking at a computer monitor for sometimes long and continuous periods of time;
  • Frequently standing and walking for long periods of time;
  • Occasionally reaching, and stooping;
  • Routinely making rounds through camp to assist camp attendees and camp staff;
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.; and
  • Exposure to various noise level.

QUALIFICATIONS

Incumbents must demonstrate the ability to follow policies and procedures as established in the
Company’s Employee Handbook. Incumbents will also contribute to a positive work environment by behaving and communicating in a manner such that they get along with all constituent groups, co- workers, and management.

In addition, the education, experience, and other skills listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

EDUCATION

  • High School diploma or equivalent required;
  • Associate’s Degree or some college from an accredited institution preferred; and
  • Twelve (12) or more units of Early Childhood Education preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS

  • First aid certification preferred; and
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 1-2 years of experience working with children;
  • Experience facilitating recreational group activities; and
  • Administrative experience preferred.

  • Communicate effectively with camp attendees, parents, community partners, and staff;
  • Must exhibit a high level of confidentiality;

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills; and
  • Team player.

EQUIPMENT AND APPLICATIONS

  • High proficiency in MS Office 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint;
  • Familiar with equipment including laptops, projectors, and apps; and
  • May be trained on or asked to use additional equipment and technology-based systems as assigned.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
