GENERAL STATEMENT OF FUNCTIONS

Responsible for the coordination, development, and implementation of individualized program plans for Exploration & Enrichment Services Program clients. The coordination includes the various EXCEED programs, funding sources, and significant others.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs all initial assessments and makes recommendations for admission to the Director of Training Center Programs.

  • Coordinates the development of individualized client goals, and client related meetings
  • Reports progress of client goals to the Program Assistant
  • Provides redirection and acts as an advocate for clients
  • Assists and supervises clients
  • Establishes and maintains liaison with EXCEED programs, funding agencies, and significant others
  • Maintains client files and ensures files meet organization, funders, and licensing standards
  • Attends and participates in assigned meetings
  • May represent the Agency at functions
  • Other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must Be Fully Vaccinated (Booster Included)
  • 21 years or older
  • Department of Justice fingerprint clearance
  • Health Screening and TB Test clearance
  • Current First Aid Certification
  • CPR Certification within 45 days of employment
  • Valid California Driver’s License
  • Acceptable driving record
  • State minimum required automobile insurance
  • Ability to develop objectives, evaluate physical, academic and psychological needs, and develop rapport with funding sources, staff and all other persons significant in client's welfare
  • Ability to do crisis intervention
  • English grammar and writing skills sufficient to do documentation and report preparation
  • Ability to maintain a normal work schedule
  • High school diploma
  • Two (2) years of college preferred
  • Two (2) years experience in a related field

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

- Dexterity sufficient to do filing and writing

- Mobility that allows movement to access the community

- Good vision to interpret non-verbal cues from clients and to point out specific details

- Adequate hearing to engage in verbal interaction with clients and others

- Ability to maintain a normal work schedule

- Sitting, walking and standing are a part of daily routine while working on client files or instructing or observing the participant

- Ability to tolerate extremes in temperatures

- Ability to lift 50 pounds

- Fingering skills to complete paperwork

- Sense of feeling for temperature and safety

- Coordination for lifting, carrying, climbing and balancing

- Coordination for stooping, reaching, crouching, and crawling

- Good vision and hearing to relate effectively with clients and community

MENTAL ABILITIES

- Ability to maintain files with correct and updated information on each client

- Ability to provide advocacy for each client assigned

- Ability to verbally communicate clearly with each client that receives individual services in a timely and effective manner, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure that the client's input and desires direct the development of the Person Centered Plan and the Individualized Service Plan

- Ability to assist clients in the appeal process within the organization and act as liaison between direct service staff and the client

- Ability to assess the needs of the client, and be familiar with other community services

- Capable of offering redirection as necessary to modify behavior and enhance problem solving, learn appropriate behaviors and responses to work and social situations in order that clients may receive maximum benefit from their program

  • - Ability to remain calm in crisis situations

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE

- 37.5 hours per week
