Clinical Applications Trainer (Healthcare IS, Hybrid)
Job description
*Position is remote and scheduled on-site as needed, may be asked to visit any Eisner Health site (Los Angeles, Lynwood, Sherman Oaks, Panorama City, and Van Nuys).*
The Clinical Applications Trainer is dedicated to supporting the learning and development needs of our organization by facilitating staff training and developing supporting training material and documentation to support that learning. A Clinical Applications Trainer's major focus is on helping clinicians, clinical support staff, and non-clinical support staff develop expertise in using Eisner's clinical application suite in their daily work, through:
- Facilitating in-person or virtual training sessions
- Delivering one-on-one targeted coaching
- Developing written and video documentation
- Maintaining Eisner’s curriculum library
Core Job Responsibilities (Essential Duties):
The key duties and responsibilities of the Clinical Applications Trainer role include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain knowledge of Eisner’s training curriculum and defined best practice workflows in primary area (clinical or practice management), with working knowledge of secondary area
- Instruct classes in formal instructor-led training sessions
- Conduct virtual trainings and educational webinars
- Provide individualized support to learners as requested
- Ensure that trainings meet learning objectives using an interactive learning task approach
- Administer end-user assessments and surveys and analyzes results to continually improve training
- Design and maintain courses, including identifying key learning objectives, developing interactive, scenario-based learning experiences, and knowledge checks such as quizzes and competency exams.
- Create and maintain written deliverables including step-by-step user guide documentation, facilitator guides, learner workbooks, video/audio scripts, and other materials
- Proofread and edit own work and work of others to improve quality, readability, consistency, and effectiveness of training material
- Maintain documentation and training material to ensure assets are properly named, versioned, and archived per the organization’s knowledge management standards
- Research progressive learning formats, methods and best practices and bring ideas to team for integrating into learning curriculum
- Provide customer service to external and internal customers
- Participate in other projects and assignments as required
- Other duties as assigned
Essential Qualities
The essential qualities necessary of the Clinical Applications Trainer include, but are not limited to:
- Exceptional analytical skills
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical individuals
- Ability to explain the “why” behind the “how” and connect documentation and training material to clinical and financial outcomes
- Ability to build and maintain interpersonal relationships with management, physicians, staff, and vendors
- Ability to exercise independent judgment in planning, organizing, and performing systems analyst tasks
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Healthcare, Education, or related field and/or equivalent experience required
- Minimum 2 years’ experience developing written documentation and/or training content, such as PowerPoints, interactive exercises, facilitator guides, etc. preferred
- Experience in using eLearning authoring software (such as Adobe Captivate) to create interactive training videos preferred
- Experience or working knowledge of NextGen Practice Management and Electronic Health Records systems preferred
- Experience supporting Community Health Center (CHC) or Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) organizations and reporting needs (such as HRSA UDS reporting, Meaningful Use, NCQA, PCMH, etc.) preferred
- Experience with creating written technical and end user support documentation preferred
