Control Room Operator
Elk City, Oklahoma

Maverick Natural Resources is currently seeking a Control Room Operator to join their Operations team. This individual proactively monitors and controls wells, processing equipment, compressors and alarms during normal operations, abnormal conditions, and emergency response. Optimize production and organize resources. Serves as the key communication link between field personnel, corporate staff, customers, and interconnects.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for day-to-day operational activities, such as shut in or open wells, artificial lift maintenance, chemical treatments, rigless jobs (swab, slickline) etc.
  • Direct field-based well failure activities; identify, validate, and react to well failures
  • Optimize artificial lift applications, including plunger lift, gas lift, rod pump, GAPL, ESP and jet pump.
  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnose down hole problems on wells prior to moving the rig to the well
  • Coordinate resolution of problems with Field Techs
  • Identify and resolve production deviations
  • Attend well and pattern reviews
  • Attend integrated solutions meetings and interact with engineers
  • Develop and utilize analytics dashboards
  • Acknowledge, respond to, and initiate corrections/actions to process alarms.
  • Maintains event logs and downtime reports; updates system daily reports.
  • Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.

Other Job Responsibilities:
  • Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.).
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects company assets, including intellectual property by keeping information confidential.
  • Other duties as assigned by management including but not limited to the following: daily production reports, tracking downtime and lost volumes, and notifications to management and producers regarding system events.
    Qualifications:
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of artificial lift or control room experience. Plunger lift experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of SCADA, upstream oil and gas operations
  • Must be able to visually monitor several computer screens in a control room environment. Must maintain a high level of mental alertness and be capable of quickly processing and reacting to incoming information from the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA).
  • Ability to accurately solve problems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
  • Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
  • Good communication abilities (written and verbal) including the ability to effectively communicate by telephone.
  • Good administrative and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in the use and application of the following software: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook), Spotfire/PowerBI, Cygnet, Ignition
  • Ability to work alone and highly motivated.

    Education Requirements:
  • High School diploma or college degree
  • Strong math skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skill set
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and meet the objectives of the job and the team.
  • Some college with a math/science focus
