Position Overview:

The Controller reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for all financial statements, budgets, cash forecasts, and file maintenance for applicable entities. Oversight of accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll is part of this role.

Results oriented, hands-on professional with the ability to deal effectively and interact well with internal and external team members. Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Prepare general ledger journal entries
  • Preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements, including reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
  • Process intercompany billings, if any
  • Assist management in budgeting process
  • Forecast weekly cash requirements
  • Prepare sales tax returns at the state and local level

Oversight of the Accounts Payable processes, including:

  • Audit invoice entry to A/P system
  • Processing of supplier payments
  • Administering automatic payments
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements

Oversight of the Billing/Accounts Receivable processes, including:

  • Review of monthly invoices
  • Audit work order billing
  • Application of customer payments
  • Collections

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field
  • CPA desired but not required
  • Proven background in food service industry is desirable but not required
  • Minimum 10 years practical accounting experience, public accounting a plus but not required
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Experience with ERP and accounting software systems required….NetSuite a plus and strong MS Office Excel skills a must (including VLookups, Pivot Tables, etc.)
  • Positive attitude and team player
  • Highly organized with strong emphasis on self-motivation and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with executive level external and internal clients
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to identify and manage priorities
  • Capable of multi-tasking and the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Exhibits highly developed ability to follow-up on multiple projects
  • Willingness to work primarily in an office environment

Physical Demands and Requirements:

This position requires the employee to sit and/or stand for a majority of the day. Constant hearing, seeing, talking, communicating, reading, writing, and typing in an indoor environment.
