CTUIR MISSION STATEMENT
Exercise the Tribe?s sovereign authority to achieve the maximum protection of resources identified in the Treaty of 1855, to protect newly acquired lands wherein the Tribe has a vested interest, to protect the lands of all the citizens and residents of the Umatilla Indian Reservation. This position will protect human life, water, land, air, and wildlife by exercising professional skills and abilities in the protection of the resources of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
One of three persons in Café responsible for cooking, cash handling, ordering, restocking inventory, catering, deliveries, and customer service.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for counter service, check backs, upselling, cross-selling, and customer satisfaction.
- Adhere to standards for guest service at all times through prompt and polite behavior at all times.
- Follow recipes and prepare food required for lunch service as well as catered events.
- Prepare a wide variety of foods including baked goods in varying quantities.
- Comply with food safety regulations. Handle, store, and rotate all products properly.
- Responsible for cleaning equipment and general custodial service for the food service area and kitchen (beverage, slicer, dishwasher, ovens, grill, burners, freezers/refrigeration units, chafing dishes, mopping, buffing, sanitizing, windows, etc).
- Use the Point of Sale system, generate daily reports, and reconcile daily deposit and cash drawer.
- Responsible for ordering food and supplies with selected vendors.
- Maintain food waste sheet, dry storage inventory, and monitor inventory expiration.
- Assist with catering and off-site service.
- Assist with set up and service for meetings, tour groups, and conferences.
- Follow instructions to maximize sales, minimize cost & waste, and use time efficiently.
- Prevent theft, spoilage, and ensure inventory and portion control.
- Open and close the kitchen properly adhering to procedure checklists for all kitchen stations.
- Ability to perform independently, under pressure, and to multi-task to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate initiative, positive attitude, and teamwork to make the café successful.
- Perform other tasks and responsibilities related to café operations.
