Position Description
Performs supervisory and coordinative work in the operation of a specific program or departmental project. Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions and aspects of a specific program as well as the monitoring of program staff and operational procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise program staff, volunteers and student assistants.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Maintain operations area equipment, including game day flags, radios, apparel, etc.
  • Assist and manage athletic events for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
  • Event Staff: Assist with appropriate levels of staffing at various events and supervise event staff as needed.
  • Assist in the recruiting/exit process for event workers at all athletic events.
  • Support the Departments maintenance mission (i.e., identify problems, prepare the necessary paperwork, and follow up for completion).
  • Direct, supervise or assist in event management for Football, MBB, WBB, Volleyball, Soccer, Baseball, Softball, Track & Field, Golf, Tennis, UIL Events, including playoffs.
  • Operations supervisor for the proper game quality assurances for all events, including - police, EMS, parking, game officials, security, visiting teams, guest service locations, Blue Team staff, etc. (confirmation and delivery/pick-up of necessary items to each entity).
  • Day-to-day support and assistance with pre-game set-ups on days leading up to events, facility pre-game checks for all venues, credentials, and parking passes.
  • Proficient in word, excel, InDesign, Adobe, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Direct, supervise or assist in the management of Big 12 and/or NCAA tournaments hosted by TTU.
  • Comply with all NCAA, Big 12, and Texas Tech University rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Ability to work overtime, including nights and weekends.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and two-year driving record acceptable to the university.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
High school graduation plus five (5) years progressively responsible related experience; additional related education may exchange for the required experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 2-3 years of athletic event management experience (Post-Graduate Internship/Internships count).
  • Knowledge of public university procurement policies.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Excellent social skills - able to work with a broad range of people.
