Description

Reporting to the Zurn Elkay Corporate Accounting Manager, the Corporate Accountant is responsible for preparing accurate & transparent financial reporting across the global business, including the US, Canada, and the Middle East. This role will partner with members throughout the Zurn Elkay Finance team to ensure financial processes meet Corporate standards. Zurn Elkay Corporate Accountant will act with a continuous improvement mindset and play a critical role in implementing month-end close best practices across all businesses.

This position will be at Zurn Elkay’s Corporate office in downtown Milwaukee, WI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform various month-end closing duties, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations for various accounts such as reserves, accruals, and prepaids.
  • Assist in driving continuous improvement in financial close process for both Zurn and Elkay business units.
  • Assist with intercompany weekly reporting and monthly reconciliation process.
  • Prepare various department spend analysis for budget and forecast tracking.
  • Assist with ad-hoc, special projects including integration assistance of future acquisition targets.
  • Assist with internal/external audit coordination.
  • Partner with broader Finance team to drive process improvements in financial reporting. This includes driving efficiency in the closing process and implementing procedures to streamline audit deliverables.
  • Collaborate with members of the Finance team to ensure compliance to US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, Corporate policies and procedures and local statutory requirements.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred
  • 2 or more years of accounting experience, public accounting experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment
  • Strong ability to turn data into actionable insights
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to clearly communicate complex financial information in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Strong problem solving, analytical skills and the ability to balance multiple tasks
  • Highly motivated with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated business acumen and understanding of processes to facilitate continuous improvement
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and particularly strong Excel skills involving pivot tables and dynamic formulas
