Come and join the Kennebec Pharmacy & Home Care Team! We have an exciting opportunity as a Correspondence Specialist at our E. Chestnut Street, Augusta location!!
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Correspondence Specialist processes all incoming correspondence and provides support to the Revenue Cycle Team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Processing daily mail, batching, faxes, and answering phones.
- Coordinates w/ interoffice mail
- Responds to customer inquiries and complaints (i.e., bill payment, usage inquiries, account updates, service, credit and collections) in a customer focused manner.
- Efficient, timely, and accurate processing and data entry of assigned claim files, and claim payments as required.
- Provide required support to the internal office teams as needed.
- Ability to multi-task and manage a heavy and active caseload.
- Daily maintenance and update of assigned files, correspondence, etc.
- Development and maintenance of positive working relations, regular communication, and follow-up with internal and external customers and customers as required.
- Access and utilize Claims System, generate loss runs and claim reports as requested.
- Handles all phases of customer inquiries received by telephone or by correspondence (written or electronic).
- Responsible for inventory (envelopes, ordering, office supplies)
- Timely notification of problems to Supervisor/Manager.
- Ensures all address with payers and third-party companies are updated and accurate.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide excellent customer service while taking inbound calls and assisting with requests.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and rights.
- Following all policies and procedures as outlined by the company, governmental.
regulations, and HIPAA standards - Maintains professional appearance and conduct at all times.
- Uses PTO appropriately.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
- Good communication skills, both oral and written, Strong customer service orientation.
- Able to coordinate multiple tasks for multiple customers in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Works well within a team.
- MS Office skills
- Knowledge of billing, collections is a plus.
