Job duties: Assists the director of education with programs for state and municipal judges, court employees, and other stakeholders by planning and coordinating all aspects of training, conferences, and special events, staffing education committees, troubleshooting at conferences, monitoring continuing education compliance, tracking educational offerings, and performing assignments contributing to the mission of OJA. The position’s working title is “Court Education Specialist.”

Required Education, Experience, and Qualities: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in Human Development and Education, Business Administration, Public Administration, Administration of Justice, or related field of study.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to design education and development programs.
  • Knowledge of court procedures and policies, legal documents, laws, and legal factors pertaining to the various departments of the district court.
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures of public administration including employment and personnel management.
  • Knowledge of financial management and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of modern office management.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to make work decisions in accordance with laws, regulations, and court policies and procedures.
  • Ability to express ideas concisely and clearly, orally and in writing.
