Responsibilities:
Are you looking for something that’s pushing the envelope at State Farm and moving Enterprise Technology to the next level? If so, the Claims Data Marketplace (CDM) product may be your answer!
CDM is building out the next generation of a data warehouse in the cloud called ‘Marketplace’. The focus is on migrating Claim’s analytic data to AWS. Consumers of the data include Data Scientists, Power Users and BI Reporting to name a few. The future will also include the integration with data from other lines of business, external data sources, and unstructured data.
The CDM works closely with Claims Business, Claims Product, and Data Science teams to enable analytic initiatives using the AWS technology stack. Candidates should be high performers, able to work on multiple priorities with a strong desire to learn and grow.
  • Ability to understand of data engineering topics, including ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), data integration, reusable data pipelines, data management, data analytics, and data visualization and build solutions leveraging them
  • Ability to leverage advanced business domain knowledge and navigate the organization
  • Designing, building, testing, and implementing components on AWS
  • Work with internal customers to develop innovative consumption patterns with cloud-based tooling
  • Assist other Enterprise Technology product teams in consumption of data in a variety of products, such as graph databases, object and character recognition for advanced analytic, ML and other needs
  • Work closely with peers to design and model the data needed for consumption
  • Work with other Enterprise Technology areas to capture and sanitize production data for testing
  • Work with software engineering topics, including containers, version control, CI/CD, and unit tests
  • Diagnoses and resolves complex analytic and reporting problems/issues
Qualifications:
Highly desired skills:
  • Experience writing complex SQL to aggregate data for analytic consumption
  • Experience in designing and building ETL solutions
  • Experience designing and building software solutions
  • Experience in Python development
  • Experience with AWS services (Glue, Lambda, S3, Redshift, DynamoDB, Terraform)
  • Experience in cloud based (AWS preferred) architecture development
  • Experience in data visualization tools development
  • Strong problem solving and analytical thinking
  • Experience with various software development tooling and techniques, (e.g.,GIT CI/CD)
Additional skills:
  • Data movement and ETL experience
  • Insurance Claims Business and/or technical knowledge
  • Experience in Java
