Work collaboratively with teachers and counselors to help children achieve goals. Establish trust and positive relationships with youth in program. Provide behavioral intervention to children receiving day treatment services in a school setting.

Specific duties and responsibilities:

Treatment

• Will understand and implement ARC Model of Care and CBT interventions to students in the program.
• Will establish appropriate expectation of clients, giving positive reinforcement for appropriate skills and behaviors within the program and community; using fair and impartial support to encourage positive behavioral change.
• Will provide case management; assisting the adolescent to achieve goals and objectives outlined in their Person Centered Plans; facilitate individual/family counseling sessions; review adolescent's behavior with Mental Health Professionals and/or Juvenile Court Counselor on a regular basis
• Will develop conflict resolution strategies; perform crisis intervention; schedule and attend regular team meetings with parents/school social workers/juvenile court counselors/mental health professionals; model appropriate, positive behavior.

Administrative

• Will provide complete and accurate file documentation in Purpose/Intervention/Effectiveness format; documenting all intervention, case management activities, case coordination meetings, team meetings etc. in client's case record.
• Will assist with data tracking required for CQI and external funders.
• Will assist with completing critical incident reporting documentation.

Other Responsibilities

• Oversees the maintenance and safety of the treatment facility and reports needed repairs to Program Manager, participates in recreational activities, and assists with preparing meals by following food safety guidelines and meal planning/preparation guidelines.
• Attends staff meetings and on-going training opportunities. Maintains all required training certifications.
• Other duties as required by the Program Manager.

Supervision responsibilities: None.

Education and Experience Requirements

• 1 year or more experience in human services field perferred
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; college degree in human services preferred.
• Paraprofessionals, Associate Professionals, and Qualified Mental Health Professionals are encouraged to apply.
• Experience in a school setting preferred
• Requires knowledge and the ability to practically implement mental health regulations and clinical services
• Must be culturally sensitive to children and families and support cultural diversity throughout the program
• Must have basic computer and math skills
• Must have a valid North Carolinas Drivers License
• Must submit to and pass pre-employment drug screening, criminal, HCPR and driving checks.
