The West Monroe Guest House is urgently seeking experienced and reliable Dietary Aides!!
Performs a variety of tasks in the handling, preparation and serving of resident meals as assigned by the Dietary Manager or Dietary Team Leader. Performs a variety of cleaning duties in the kitchen area. These duties may vary from day to day. May act as the End Person who preps all beverages or perform food preps for upcoming meals, etc.
Additional Duties may include:
* Handling and preparing food in accordance with sanitary, infection control, and other regulations set by public health, DHH, OSHA and other state & federal agencies and nursing home policies and procedures.
* Receiving and utilizing special training in setting up meals with special dietary requirements.
* Obtaining and distributing supplies and utensils.
* Assisting in preparing fruits and vegetables, making toast, beverages, & desserts.
* Watching and stirring cooking foods to prevent burning.
* Assisting in setting up trays to deliver to resident rooms.
* Assisting in serving food, buffet line, beverages, and desserts at meal time.
* Preparing food that is attractive, palatable and appetizing in appearance and appropriate servings to minimize food and other material waste.
* Ensuring all resident meals are prepared correctly and in a timely manner and delivered on the correct schedule.
* Maintaining kitchen cleanliness and completing cleaning schedules for entire dietary department. Sweeping, mopping, and carrying out garbage.
* Cleaning ovens, grills & deep fat fryers.
* Completing food preps for upcoming meals.
* Complying with Residents’ Rights.
* Performing related and other duties as assigned.
* High School Diploma or equivalent required (GED or HiSet)
* Work experience as a Cook or Aide in quantity food production with emphasis on infection control in a nursing home, hospital, hotel, or restaurant is preferred;
*or* OTJ (on-the-job training) will be provided.

Pay: From $9.00 per hour
