JOB TITLE : Emergency Department & ICU Director
REPORTS TO : Chief Operations Officer/Chief Nursing Officer
POSITION SUMMARY : Demonstrates leadership and organizational skills and time management skills. The Director will also demonstrate knowledge in the areas of legal and regulatory compliance issues that include, but are not limited to, Title 22, CMS Conditions of Participation, and Accreditation agency. Possesses good problem solving skills and is supportive of staff, coworkers, and hospital management. Must be able to make creditable decisions in a timely manner based on the standards of care for the patients, staff and families.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE : Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN/MSN preferred. Possess at least three years of nursing leadership experience in the last five years, with two years in the acute setting. Clinical experience in emergency nursing and knowledge of emergency medical services, including pre-hospital care and trauma, is also preferred .
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Possess a current California RN license and maintain BLS certification, ACLS certification, PALS certification and annual skills competency verification. Violence Prevention & De-Escalation within 90 days of hire or status change.
