We serve the manufacturing needs of over 200 companies in Silicon Valley and beyond, producing Sheet Metal, Machined Parts, Cable Assembly, and Electro-Mechanical and Electronic Assemblies.

About this Opportunity:
The Director of Programs & Customer Service manages the Sales, Customer Service and Estimating functions. In this capacity, this role is responsible for assuring product delivery in accordance with customer requirements and manufacturing capabilities. This position provides strong leadership and implements a high level of customer service. This position is the highest level within the Sales and Customer relations group. The Director establishes overall direction and guidance for the group, resolves problems and negotiates contracts which are beyond the abilities of their team, and represents the interests and needs of the group to the Top Management. This position reports directly to the CEO. In contrast, this position supervises Program Managers, Customer Account Managers, Estimators, and outside Sales Representatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains positive customer relations.
  • Interfaces with and supports Company Sales Representatives and Program Managers, Customer Account Managers and Estimators.
  • Acts as liaison between customers and manufacturing, sales, shipping and accounting, to insure superior customer service.
  • Takes product orders and inputs sales order data.
  • Investigates problems related to shipments of products, credits and new orders.
  • Recruits, motivates, develops and educates Program Managers, Customer Account Managers and Estimators.
  • Sends appropriate pricing, quotes and/or product literature to customers.
  • Sets up and maintains customer records and associated databases.
  • Develops and modifies customer service policies and procedures.
  • Designs and maintains reports used in sales analysis.
  • Participates in high-level sales and negotiations with major accounts.
  • Authorizes product returns and replacements.
  • Approves expenditures in accordance with the Company’s Expenditure Approval Policy.

Job Requirements:

  • Requires a related degree
  • 4-8 years’ experience as a manager in a customer-oriented field.
  • Experience supervising employees is highly desired, but not required.
  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills and active listening abilities.
  • Requires the ability to deeply understand the goals, drivers, and needs of others.
  • Requires the ability to change the thinking of or gain the acceptance of others in sensitive situations.
