DRIVER’S HELPER

Harrington Pepsi Company has full-time openings for Driver’s Helper positions for motivated and responsible individuals for an established route in the Helena area. Position works in a team environment with limited supervision during the day. The Driver's Helper loads, unloads, and moves materials and products from truck to customers on an established route. Routes may be local or out of town depending on the day of the week. The Driver's Helper will work four days per week: Tuesday - Friday. Seeking an individual with strong customer service skills who will interact positively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors on a daily basis.

The Driver's Helper position requires regular lifting, carrying, pulling and/or moving products on hand trucks, delivery carts and pallets periodically over workday. The position requires kneeling, squatting, crouching, crawling and bending when delivering and merchandising products, often in small areas and may include stairs and steps. Looking for applicants with a strong work ethic, good people skills with the ability and ambition to move up. This is an entry level position that allows an applicant to learn the beverage business from the ground up and prepare themselves to successfully move up to a full route delivery driver position.

The Driver's Helper position is a member of IAM (International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers) Union.

Salary: starts hourly rate $16.00

Responsibilities and Duties: Rides inside the cab of a delivery truck and loads and unloads materials onto or from trucks, pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand, hand truck, delivery cart, forklift and/or electric pallet jack as appropriate.

Supports route delivery driver in making customer deliveries, building displays, stocking coolers and shelves, maintaining proper product rotation at all times.

• Occasionally may perform route delivery in the event of the route delivery driver’s absence or vacation.
• Will learn to be proficient in the use of the handheld delivery device in support of the route delivery driver.
• Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
• Loads and secures materials into vehicles to prevent shuffling or damage in transit.
• Conveys materials between truck and designated loading and delivery area.
• Arranges products according to prearranged plan or own ideas approved by management.
• Counts and records number of units of materials moved or handled, breakage and spoilage on appropriate sheets.
• Presents professional and well-groomed appearance to customers and market place.
• Regular, reliable, predictable attendance.

Qualifications and Skills:

• 18 years or older
• High school diploma or GED
• Will request applicant to successfully pass drug test, background check and functional abilities test.

Helpful experience:

• Previous experience in the beverage industry.
