EDUCATION AND OUTREACH SPECIALIST (PART TIME)
Job description
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Utilizes graphic design, social and multi-media to promote and coordinate approved fire and life safety education and prevention programs throughout the state, to include high risk populations such as children and the elderly.
Assist with social media account management, strategy development, and content generation across platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube etc.
Consult with and provide resources to fire departments and other reputable agencies to conduct and/or implement a fire and life safety education curriculum within their community.
Develop and market the Division and fire and life safety educational campaigns to include, but not limited to, logos, print material, website administration and other media.
Research, collect and analyze fire data to interpret, develop and promote appropriate fire and life safety campaigns, to include any recommended data-driven changes.
Coordinate statewide seasonal fire safety campaigns including, but not limited to, Fire Prevention Week, Arson Awareness Week, Campus Fire Safety Week, Fireworks Safety and Holiday Safety.
Represent the Division as a member of reputable statewide fire and life safety coalition(s) and committees, providing knowledge, education and technical support.
Research and apply for grants to support the Division’s fire and life safety education mission.
Interact with television, radio, social and print media to promote fire and life safety education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1.5 Years of additional relevant experience = Associate's Degree
3 Years of additional relevant experience = Bachelor's Degree
4.5 Years additional relevant experience = Master's Degree
Education: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university with a major in education, marketing, or fire sciences. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience: Four years’ professional or paraprofessional experience in the coordination of educational programs, public education, marketing and advertising campaigns and/or fire training, with responsibility for program implementation, direct service delivery, planning or program evaluation. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
License/Certification: Must possess a valid driver’s license for travel throughout the state.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Selected candidate will undergo a fingerprint based criminal background check and motor vehicle record check in order to ensure suitability for exposure to confidential information.
