Electronics Technician
Engineering technicians will play an instrumental role in the success of Lunar Energy by helping to build and test all of our key hardware products in a lab environment. We're looking for someone to be both hands-on with our products as well as a leader to shape and manage a growing technician organization. On a given day at Lunar, you'll likely:
- Organize and manage lab equipment (power supplies, scopes, probes, thermal cameras)
- Organize and manage prototype test setups/fixtures given wiring diagrams, schematics, and wiring harness drawings
- Perform troubleshooting on circuits, down to device level, in collaboration with the EE team
- Perform soldering, mechanical assembly, fabrication of simple test boxes and cables
- Perform system and equipment level testing per Engineering direction
- Prepare test articles and support post-test product tear-downs in collaboration with reliability and test teams.
- Feedback of product performance/inadequacies to Engineering
- Evaluate technician requirements and support the build out of the Lunar technician organization.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment throughout builds and engineering tests.
- Safely manage materials and equipment including ability to drive a forklift, and proper ESD protocols for electronics.
- Experience with prototype builds, test, fixture builds
- Experience with CAD work and softwares such as onshape, Solid works
- Experience reading schematics, electrical and mechanical BOMs, electrical diagrams, wiring diagrams and drawings
- Nice to haves, experience with PCB layout software experience (Altium preferred) and/or high voltage electronics (~500V DC range)
About you
- Associate degree in Electronics, or similar, and/or 5 years of experience in the field
- 2+ years of experience working in an R&D or development lab environment in close collaboration with engineering staff.
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively with other individuals in a team or project setting
- You are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others.
- Ability to consistently make timely decisions even in the face of complexity; balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness
- Some Production support experience, software development experience
