JOB SUMMARY
Evaluates manufacturing processes by develop, designing and conducting research methods to improve manufacturing methods using knowledge of product design; materials
and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods and quality control standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
- Maximizes efficiencies by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and workforce utilization.
- Typical duties involve evaluating and solving problems as they occur; recommending and implementing improvements as needed relating to the production process.
- Works closely with supervisors, leads, and production personnel to understand and improve processes.
- Works in cooperation with others to develop specific equipment and tooling concepts.
- Submits drawings for machining and fabrication of equipment and tooling designs.
- Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements.
- May design and develop 'right-sized' equipment for integration within manufacturing processes in order to reduce waste, lead time, inventory, and material handling to ultimately increase efficiency in the overall value stream.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university or an equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work experience.
- Experience with robotic weld/robotics a strong plus.
- Six Sigma certified helpful.
- Strong Lean Manufacturing background.
- Strong analytical, communication, and MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint) skills; proficient in design software (Solid Works and Autocad).
- A high level of creativity and latitude is required.
- Sheet metal experience and Inventory Control knowledge/experience desired.
