Mercedes Diaz Homes, Inc. - Direct Support Professional/Caregiver Position.

We are seeking a DSP/ Caregiver to work for our company! You will assist in the daily care of adults at one of our beautiful homes in Burbank, CA. Here at Mercedes Diaz Homes (MDH) we have been giving back to the community and helping adults with developmental disabilities for over 30 years!

• Starting rate of pay at $18.00-19.00/ hour depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Act as a role model and encourage positive interactions with others.
• Assist clients with daily living activities.
• Communicate ongoing care results and updates to relevant parties.
• Collaborate with clients and caregivers for best care opportunities.
• Maintain a healthy, clean and comfortable living environment.
• Provide assistant with personal hygiene, housekeeping and meal preparation.
• Manage clients who exude verbal and physical behaviors.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid CA Driver's License.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Previous experience in personal care or other related fields.
• Compassionate and caring demeanor.
• Ability to build rapport with clients.

Experience in the following fields a plus: Assisted Living, Behavior Aide, Caregiver, Care Giver, CNA, DD, Developmentally Disabled, Job Coach, Direct Support Professional, DSP, Elderly Care, Senior Care, Hospice Care, ILS, Guard Card, BSIS, Security, Cook, Laundry, LVN, Autism, Military, Social Work, Host, Special Education, Special Needs, Construction, Painter, EMT, Supported Living Services, SLS, Housekeeper, Military, Hotel, Hospitality, Maintenance, Driver, Construction, Mover, Shuttle, Part-Time, Driver, Attendant, Cleaner.
