Established in 1861, Gillinder Glass is a sixth generation owned custom technical molded and filter glass manufacturer located in Port Jervis, New York. The company specializes in pressed and custom molded, clear and colored glass products “Made in the USA”.

1st SHIFT FURNACE HELPER - $14.55 per hour; 5am - 5pm; 3 days on, 3 days off

2nd SHIFT FURNACE HELPER - $14.55 per hour + differential; 5pm - 5am; 3 days on, 3 days off

MUST be able to work weekends and holidays.

The furnace helper is responsible for performing various tasks necessary in maintaining INDUSTRIAL glass melting furnaces and related equipment to make our custom specialty molded glass products. Daily tasks may include the handling of raw material, monitoring furnaces and set-up of manufacturing equipment. The furnace operators must be able to follow detailed instructions.

The successful candidate must have an eye for detail and be able to work independently in a busy manufacturing environment. Special attention to the timing and temperatures required. Flexibility in work assignments is necessary as production needs frequently change.

Equipment, tools and machines monitored/used in the furnace department may include but are not limited to glass melting furnaces, annealing ovens, temperature gauges, forklifts.

The furnace operator must be able to frequently or continuously walk, stand, bend, reach, lift and carry materials used in operations, and move heavy equipment and molds (as much as 70 lbs+).
