Position Overview:
Under minimal supervision, responsible for providing general cleaning, maintenance, and set-up/tear-down services for the campus building and events (excluding the ice arena). Hours for the position are generally during the day / early evening, depending on the needs of the campus (9:00am-5:30pm). All buildings & grounds staff are expected to work outside their normal hours to support pre scheduled community-wide events (Legacy Day, Great Blake Get Together, Commencement Week)
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining the appearance of the campus building and following a maintenance program. Work closely with the campus lead & assistant lead; support faculty and outside contractors and vendors as needed.
Maintain inventories of supplies and materials necessary for program support, non-routine and special events; provide maintenance of furniture, fixtures, and equipment as directed.
Monitor cleaning levels throughout each day and work directly with our cleaning contractor to ensure contract requirements are met.
Responsible for supporting dining commons, servery areas and kitchen staff as needed during each school day, before; during and after lunch.
Request and inventory tools, equipment and materials for completion of assigned work. Perform work with an emphasis on safety; maintain and submit any required reports.
Submit purchase requisitions for all supplies and materials; coordinate and maintain adequate inventory of tools, equipment, hardware and materials. Assist Campus Lead and Assistant Lead in building inspections and maintenance operations.
Receive and deliver equipment, supplies and packages as required.
Maintain basic knowledge of plumbing, mechanical, and life safety systems as it relates to general maintenance and upkeep of the buildings.

Must be able to adapt to all working conditions and meet all physical requirements listed below
Preferred:
Previous custodial experience
Previous maintenance experience
Working Conditions:
May be subject to being on-call; carry a cell phone or two-way device
May work with hazardous materials; must follow all OSHA & Safe Schools guidelines
Schedule may change based on the needs of the school
Work longer hours than scheduled to complete/perform scheduled or emergency functions and events, as necessary
Required to work under adverse weather conditions and varying temperatures, assisting with exterior maintenance year round
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work safely from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs
Required to work in confined spaces which may require extended periods of stooping, bending or kneeling and standing for long periods
Involves a great deal of walking
Must possess normal vision, hearing and physical dexterity
Will be required to do own laboring, lift up to 40 pounds safely, and be able to transport equipment, including carts which may carry 400 pounds
Team Participation:
Participate as a contributing member of the Buildings & Grounds Team, attending team meetings, trainings and community events
As appropriate, give input for ways to improve procedures and policies currently in use to ensure business is conducted in a safe, responsible manner
Willing to assist in other areas and with other tasks not defined in position description
