HL7 Interface Developer Summary-REMOTE

The IRIS Software Engineer works closely with Health Information Exchange Client Project Managers and external partners to develop, maintain, and support data exchange and integration primarily focused on HL7 and other EMR integrations utilizing Intersystem IRIS. The ideal candidate for this is capable of working independently with little supervision. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to make quick decisions and solve problems.

HL7 Interface Developer -REMOTE Responsibilities:

  • Work with internal teams and client project managers to produce requirement specifications and establish timelines for delivery
  • Implement programming and configuration changes to enable accurate capture and transmission of data
  • Create and maintain appropriate documentation for work efforts and configuration changes
  • Conduct testing of changes to ensure they produce the desired information in appropriate formats
  • Compile documentation of programming changes and subsequent revisions so others can understand work completed
  • Clearly communicate and consult with managerial, engineering, and technical personnel to clarify intent, identify problems, and suggest changes
  • Participate in capacity planning, assignment of work, team meetings, and stand-ups

HL7 Interface Developer -REMOTE Qualifications / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, information systems or an applied science or equivalent experience
  • Two plus (2+) years of IT experience in the analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation of HL7 and other related integrations in the health care sector preferably using InterSystems IRIS, but other enterprise HL7 engines may be considered depending on experience
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and documentation skills
  • Good organizational, task, and time management skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work across diverse technical and non-technical teams
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Basic understanding of infrastructure technologies - Server, data store, network, storage, and management technologies
  • Healthcare IT experience is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
