The Embassy of France in Washington, DC hires a full-time employee for the position of :
Housekeeper at the Residence of the Ambassador,
starting on January 2nd 2023
Job title : Housekeeper
Main duties :
- Housekeeping :
- Daily cleaning, housekeeping and maintenance of the Ambassador’s private quarters
- Cleaning and maintenance of the 6 guest rooms
- In-room breakfast service for guest rooms
- Cleaning the window glasses
- Laundry :
- Laundry care, storage and arrangement of household linen (towels, sheets, tablecloths)
- Washing and ironing of household linens, towels and sheets
- Washing and ironing of the Ambassador and his family’s personal clothes
- Support during events or delegations hosting :
- On-call service support for events and delegations : dish washing, specific cleaning in reception areas, coat check.
This list is not exhaustive.
Required qualifications, training and experience :
- Experience in hotel housekeeping
- Knowledge of cleaning products, materials, linens, leathers etc.
Languages : Fluent in English.
A good command of French would be appreciated.
Computer skills : Basic computer skills required (e-mails).
Other skills and abilities:
- Availability and discretion.
- Sense of hospitality
- Technique, discipline
- Good teamwork state of mind.
- Ability to handle objectives and deadlines.
Special working conditions (special obligations, flexible hours, etc.):
- 40 hours/week (full time).
- 25 paid vacation days per year + public holidays.

- This position does not grant any kind of diplomatic or consular status or privilege.
- Will work under the supervision of the Facility Manager, within a 10-member team.
Salary:
- Level 1: $ 3539/ month (gross) + transportation benefit of $ 120 monthly.
- Housing provided on-site
Location : Residence of France, Kalorama neighborhood, Washington, DC
