SummaryInspect components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies at Receiving Inspection, NavTech, Wire Rope, Electro-Mechanical and Box Cell areas. This inspection work requires the individual to interpret required drawings and specifications (both internal and external requirements). The staff in this position utilize drawings, written procedures and/or verbal instructions along with more complex tools, gages and equipment to verify compliance of the inspected articles to the required drawings and specifications. Staff in this position are required to keep detailed/legible records of their inspection activities including acceptance or rejection, based on our procedures and document the records on the necessary forms or in our computer systems. Responsibilities
Work safely by yourself or with others and report any unsafe actions, on company property to the appropriate management staff.
Participate as a team member, within the department and with other departments to accomplish our goals to meet customer needs and expectations.
Learn and expand your job knowledge through ongoing training and experience.
Inspect components, sub-assemblies and final products, while using a wide range of measuring tools, gages and equipment.
Be able to start setting-up and running CMM programs and running inspection reports on the CMM for component/product verifications.
Setting-up and running electrical testing equipment.
Review specifications and details required to accomplish the inspection activities. (These might include, but are not limited to drawings/blueprints, purchase orders, sales contracts, military contracts, Triumph specifications, customer specifications.)
Perform set-up and tear-down of ATP (Acceptance Test Plans and procedures) equipment for the testing of products (for the above-mentioned work areas) to verify product compliance.
Perform First Article Inspections (FAIs) on all products requiring it and collect the necessary data for the Quality Engineers to perform paperwork preparation activities for the customers.
Be neat and orderly in all data collection, documentation, and tooling handling. Responsibilities
Review documentation for completeness and to make sure all necessary signoffs are complete before closing-out any inspection activity or documentation.
Assist others (in QC, Operations, Customers or Source Inspectors) as necessary.
Work overtime, as necessary to meet customer requirements.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and work instructions/regulations.
Analyze basic problems and situations, recommend and implement solutions to address problems in conjunction with the appropriate management staff.
Assist with general 5S (cleaning and organizing) activities in QC and in Operations.
Assist with 5S (cleaning and organizing) audits.
Assist with any Safety Audits to help maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Notify supervision or management of any non-conformance or scrap and keep management appraised of all unusual/abnormal work conditions. Qualifications
High School or GED and some relevant work experience in a similar manufacturing, assembly and test environment.
Willingness to learn
Demonstrated ability to work closely and effectively with others
Use of office machines, copiers/scanners, Computer, CMM.
Increased judgement and analytic abilities, that require detail and more complex calculations
Good organizational skills
Good communication skills
The participation, and application of departmental policies
Ongoing and periodic work training

Limited work supervision
