The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing the flow of inventory in and out of the Prepared Foods Warehouse, including inbound process, product return process, batch cycle counting, and WIP count.
What you'll do...
- Cycle count all Prepared Foods Product, WIP and Ingredients in accordance to count schedule to conduct the end of shift batch on a daily basis
- Research root cause on inventory discrepancies
- Prevent the repetition of inventory variance, discrepancies, and errors
- Communicates with all necessary departments/warehouse team and leadership regarding variances, discrepancies, and warehouse errors.
- Oversee and process all returning items to properly process credits and ensure that each product is moved to their respective locations based on the quality of the product being returned.
- Trains other employees and cross training other department team employees on the basics of Inventory Control
- Adhere to the strict safety rules and follow all guidelines for PPE across various departments.
- Operate forklifts and/or electric pallet jack when necessary
- Ability to recognize quantity discrepancies, perform basic research
- Work with QA with regards to product donation information and/or disposal
- Email request relating to inventory
- Performs other related duties as requested
What we look for...
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have an analytical mind and strong mathematical skills
- Possess knowledge of food handling, processing, and storage best practices
- Must possess a basic knowledge of Food safety and Good Manufacturing best practices.
- Proficient keyboarding skills
- Possess computer skills and software knowledge (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Working knowledge of WMS/Inventory Management Software (e.g. Produce Pro) required
- Experience with inventory control procedures
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (ability to read and write in English, as is affected by direction and paperwork)
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work under little or no supervision
- Must be able to work extended periods of time in continuously cold and/or damp conditions
- Ability to lift push and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Availability for 12 PM - 9 PM shift time
