Training will need to be on 1st shift from 8AM to 4:30 PM. Candidates must be available to work 2nd shift and overtime when needed.

Under the direction of the Senior Lab Supervisor, the lab technician performs advanced as well as routine analytical testing to support Toledo Flour Mill Quality Control and Assurance programs. Lab Technician will evaluate wheat and flour samples to support survey of new wheat crop, including moisture, ash, protein, SRC, toxin analyses as well as wheat grading and sizing, and reporting of data. Lab Technician will also complete routine tasks to support the quality lab and ensure coverage, including sample collection, flour analysis, data entry, sifter tailings reporting, COA review, and support of quality/food safety programs.
This position is Full Time and flexibility is a must. Applicants should be available to work any shift (including night shifts), overtime and weekend rotations as needed.
Description:
  • Demonstrates and is responsible for all functions of a QC Laboratory Technician, including analytical techniques, data communication, and understanding of testing program for Quality Control at Toledo Flour Mill.
  • Performs advanced chemical and analytical procedures relative to flour and wheat quality control for Mondelez, according to documented and approved analytical procedures.
  • Demonstrate the ability to apply scientific method to analytical projects, as well as computerized and statistical data evaluation. Compiles written analytical reports, graphs and demonstrates excellent verbal communications, which facilitate technical information transfer.
  • Assists in implementation of a laboratory quality assurance program, including instrumentation maintenance and calibration and all documentation required of a sound program, as recognized by organizations such as the AOAC.
  • Supports Quality and Food Safety Management programs as needed.
  • Supports QC department in computer software implementation and use.
  • Participates in laboratory and plant safety programs, following company policies regarding safety and environment



Ideal candidate must have:
  • Associate degree (Science related field preferred)
  • 1-2 years' experience in laboratory and/or Quality Control
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems, Procedures, and Policies
  • Experience in the use of statistical concepts in the control of manufacturing operations
  • Ability to analyze data, proven record demonstrating ability to effectively problem solve
  • Strong Continuous Improvement mindset
  • Excellent Computer (MS Office) and Communication Skills (Oral and Written)

Preffered Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in a science field
  • At least 1 year in a food production environment
