Job Summary

Lead and manage team to execute activities necessary to manage and sustain relational database management systems, databases, and data operations in support of the Army Training Management System.

Essential Functions/ PWS Requirement

  • Lead and manage team of database developers and administrators
  • Identify, isolate and resolve ATMS data operations issues/faults.
  • Improve/adapt/integrate and update ATMS relational database management system, upgrade database management software and database functionality and performance.
  • Provide recommendations for improvements ot ATMS data operations and internal support tools by monitoring and analyzing ATMS performance, functionality, relational database management system and database technical designs, reports, and documentation.
  • Optimize data structures and operations IAW approved priorities, coordinate with network and system engineers for optimization/performance tuning and system CPU usage.
  • Develop data queries in support of requests for information.
  • Conduct on-site database administration and support services to maintain all ATMS database requirements.

Required Skills, Qualifications & Certifications


  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Project Management experience or PMP qualification.
  • Familiarity with data engineering/management, software development and IT network data structures.
  • MCSA SQL Server (Computing Environment Certification) have or attain.
  • One of the following CompTIA Security+, GESC, SSCP, CCNA Security

Desired Skills, Qualifications & Certifications

  • Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
  • Tier-3 or equivalent background investigation.
