The Machine Operator in the JustCut department at Paragon Foods will process fresh fruits and vegetables using various industrial food processing equipment. This is performed in a refrigerated warehouse environment. The Machine Operator position is responsible for the safe operation of equipment in an efficient manner in order to meet production schedules and quality standards.

Essential Functions

· Cut, slice, and dice fresh fruits and vegetables using industrial food processing machines while adhering to production schedules.

· Validate that correct product has been selected and is damage free.

· Clean and rinse production equipment between processing of different products.

· Prepare packaging machine for production start-up and adjust machine when packaging different products to achieve maximum efficiency.

· Store, seal, and label food for storage following proper guidelines to prevent intentional or unintentional product adulteration or contamination.

· Set-up, maintain cleanliness, and clean-up work areas, equipment, and utensils following proper guidelines for sanitation, storage, and safety.

· Monitor product output to ensure end result is within product specifications.

· Check and adjust machine configurations to match desired product outputs.

· Comply with all Federal, State, and Local food safety regulations.

· Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

· Primarily set in a refrigerated warehouse where temperatures are between 35-40 degrees Fahrenheit

· Exposure to moving mechanical parts and sharp objects.

· Exposure to wet conditions.

· Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn in all environments, as well as items related to GMP, including hairnets, beard nets (if applicable), safety shoes and clean room coats.

· Primarily standing work on a concrete surface.

· Ability to exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects of various shapes and sizes, including the human body.

· Frequently handling, reaching, using fine manipulation to grasp or hold objects.

· Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision and ability to adjust focus.

· Hearing ability required to detect safety alerts and alarms, as well as exchange information and detect situations where safety may be an issue.

Schedule

· Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Scheduled days off are Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.

· Shift begins at 8:00am and ends when work is completed for the day.

· Schedule is subject to change.

Minimum Qualifications

· High School Diploma or GED.

· Must be at least 18 years old.

· Experience in food service role is preferred.

· Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.

· Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions in English.

· Ability to perform basic arithmetic.

· Be able to pass a background check.

Pay - Starting at $18.00/hour with the opportunity to increase your wage up to $21.00/hour based on a skills and performance pay system.
