Maintenance Technician
Main Purpose
To maintain all manufacturing plant, equipment and facilities in good working order. Improve equipment reliability by increasing the mean time between failure (MTBF) while reducing the meantime to repair (MTTR).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out repairs to all types of plant and equipment in a safe, timely, and professional manner
- Must have advanced electrical and PLC troubleshooting and repair knowledge
- Must have a working knowledge of laser programming and setup
- Assist in the development of planned preventative maintenance schedules (PPM).
- Carry out PPM schedules as necessary and planned work orders as required.
- Operate maintenance Fork Lift Truck and Elevated Working Platform as required.
- Understands OSHA regulations
- Report breakdown root cause, equipment faults, and concerns to management.
- Make full use of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Plan / prioritize workload to support production
- Fill in job tickets / CMMS on completion of work.
- Manufacture spare parts as required (Simple Bracketry Gaskets, etc.) using lathes, milling machines, welding equipment, etc.
- Identify spares requirements and control / log usage.
- Assist with the moving, installation, repositioning of machines and equipment.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Other Requirements
- The successful candidate must have the ability to work on their own and be a fully integrated member of a team.
- Extensive experience as a qualified maintenance/service engineer operating in an industrial environment (Preferably in the manufacturing sector)

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full time- Monday - Thursday 10 hour shifts - 2nd shift 2pm - 12am.
Travel
Travel is minimal, and primarily local. Occasional out of the area and overnight travel may be expected.
Scope or Scale
Comply with all hygiene, environmental and health and safety requirements as laid down in policy and as trained.
Responsible for maintaining good hygiene within the business unit in line with regulatory, company and customer requirements.
