Position Summary:
Creates and Changes Mechanical / Electrical drawings and Bills of Material working from broad direction, redlines, or markups. Pulls part numbers and writes ECO’s. Interfaces with Engineering and Manufacturing team members and with minimal guidance from the Product / Mechanical Engineer.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
1. Follow established engineering procedures and specifications to create and modify mechanical drawings using 2D and 3D CAD drafting applications, primarily Solidworks and Draftsight.
2. Select and define materials and tolerancing to meet specification, improve manufacturability, and / or reduce cost.
3. Create component layout, wiring and power distribution drawings.
4. Create assembly drawings, fabrication drawings and wiring diagrams.
5. Work from redlined drawings or verbal instructions.
6. Generate ECO’s and BOM’s.
7. Perform basic engineering calculations as requested.
8. Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility: None.
Qualifications:
Ø Education: High school graduate with a drafting certificate from a trade school or equivalent. Broad knowledge of Solidworks.
Ø Experience: 5-7+ years experience in development, design, documentation, support and troubleshooting of automated machines (i.e., concept to final product).
Ø Skills/Technical Requirements: Ability to take written or verbal design concepts and perform detail work and select components. Understands the concept of designing and cost effectiveness (serviceability and manufacturability). Advanced knowledge of latest release of Solidworks; AutoCad, MS Office (Excel and MS Project), Adobe Acrobat and graphics conversion experience. Knowledge of ANI Y14.5 standards, geometric dimensioning and tolerance. Ability to effectively communicate and work in a team environment. Strong problem solving, planning and organizing skills.
Job Conditions:
Work in lab conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
Physical Demands/Strengths:
Prolonged periods of sitting at the computer terminal and the ability to use keyboard.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
