Maximus has immediate openings for Mental Health Counselors. We are looking for dedicated and dynamic professionals to administer assessments on a contractual, fee for services basis - Working within a schedule you create!!!

Mental Health Counselor Responsibilities / Duties:

• Counselors will be providing specialized assessment services administering PASRR (Preadmission Screening and Resident Review) assessments. (PASRR is a federal requirement designed to ensure that individuals are not inappropriately placed into nursing homes for long term care services. All individuals seeking admittance to a Medicaid-certified nursing facility must be evaluated for serious mental illness (SMI) and/or intellectual disability (ID), be offered the most appropriate setting for their needs (in the community, a nursing facility, or acute care settings), and receive the services they need in those settings)
• Mental health counselors to administer these assessments on a contractual, fee-for-service basis. Clinicians are compensated for each completed assessment
• As an independent contractor, you set your schedule. Assessments can be administered in the evenings and on weekends if preferred
• There is no office to report to and all assessments typically occur in hospitals and nursing facilities - As we work through COVID, many will be able to be completed remotely. For onsite assessments, PPE will be provided.
• Independent Contractors are provided a territory to cover which includes their community and surrounding communities.

Mental Health Counselor Qualifications:

• Mental health counselors must have a minimum of a master’s degree in a human services or related field and have a minimum of two years of clinical experience working directly with adults with a mental health diagnosis. Professional license is not required.
• Working for the State of Illinois and/or working for a nursing facility is a conflict of interest.
